THE NEW WORLD ORDER: CONSPIRACY THEORY, OR CONSPIRACY FACT? The “New World Order” has been a prominent conspiracy theory for decades. Here and now, as the new millennium dawns, the New World Order has become a globally recognised political concept, and as such it can no longer be regarded simply as a theory. The Latin word “Novus” means “New”, and “Ordo” means “Order”. The alternative translations are all as pertinent today as they were “at the beginning of the new American era in 1776.
